A warrant is a document that is issued by the government which authorizes the police or another licensed group to make an arrest. Once an arrest warrant has been granted by a judge then local law enforcement officials are legally allowed to arrest the person of interest. They can legally arrest you with a warrant anywhere and anytime.

If you know that a warrant is out for your arrest the best thing to do is to turn yourself in to the local police. By turning yourself in voluntarily you will most likely have a better outcome than if you were brought in after being caught.
